Tasting Note
Grape Variety: Grenache (47%), Shiraz (40%), Mataro (13%)
Region: Moppa, Barossa Valley
Colour: Vivid cherry
Nose: Fragrant nose with complex layers of blue and red berry fruits. Glazed cherry, raspberry, blueberry, creaming soda and grenadine.
Palate: Seamless core of generous berry coulis fruits with a juicy flow and energy. Expressive Grenache leads with cherry and raspberry flavours, complemented by a dark core of plush Shiraz which is lengthened by a savoury textural Mataro influence. No hint of oak flavour but a lovely creamy texture and softness from 14 months maturation on light yeast lees in seasoned French oak Hogsheads. Delicious.
Cellaring potential: 10+ years
Vintage Conditions
The 2020 growing season was a challenging one viticulturally. Below average rainfall in winter and spring of 2019, combined with wind at flowering and a hot dry December and early January severely impacted yields.
Fewer bunches than typical combined with small bunch and berry size made for limited quantities of intensely flavoured fruit. Rain on the 1st of February was a saviour to the vines, allowing fruit to gradually ripen with good flavour, colour, and tannin development, in sync with sugar accumulation.
Fruit for the G.S.M was harvested on the 18th of March capturing vibrancy of flavour and aromatics.

Reviews
Medium deep crimson. Very attractive blueberry, raspberry, musky plum aromas with dark chocolate notes. Buoyant and crispy with juicy raspberry, plummy, mulberry fruits, fine chalky/ al dente textures, lovely mid-palate volume and fresh long mineral acidity. 14.5% alc. Drink now – keep for a while. – Andrew Calliard MW (94 Points)
A deep, but vibrant red in colour. Aromatics are pretty with floral red cherry and raspberry joined by wood spice and a touch of aniseed. The palate has layered, juicy, red cherry and plum that is amply supported by fine tannins that are intertwined with baking spice. The finish has an elegance to it with fruit, tannin and oak taking their turn to have an impact but no one part dominating. There is plenty to get excited about by this producer. – Patrick Eckel (93 Points)
